Russell has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physical Education (RMIT) and is a certified Level II Strength and Conditioning Coach. Russell has been working as a Personal Trainer and a Strength and Conditioning specialist for over 10 years.

In that time he has been the conditioning co-ordinator at St.Kilda Football Club for 3 years and strength coach at Melbourne Football Club for a year. He also spent 2 years at the Dandenong Rangers (WNBL) as strength and conditioning coach.

Currently Russell is co-owner of Harpers Personal Training, Caulfield, and is a consultant to the Australian Institute of Sport, as strength coach for the Golf Squad, based in Melbourne.

Russell also lectures for training organisations on numerous topics for people studying Fitness Industry training courses, and as a presenter of Corporate Health and Training Packages.

Please briefly describe your role within the golf organisations?
To develop and implement coaching programmes at elite and non-elite level.
These programmes are for clinics, squads and individuals. The programmes
are comprehensive in nature, addressing technical, tactical, physical and
mental preparation. My role is also to oversee the development of
programmes for the development of players throughout NSW using other coaches as part of a network system.

Have you written any Golf related articles, literature, videos or books?
I submit monthly articles to the Golfer Newspaper (NSW edition), also
contribute to Golf Magazine Australian Edition. There are plenty of others
that I can't think remember off the top of my head.

Are you available for private consultations, lessons, workshops?
Yes. I do limited private coaching, but also lecture on request on any
topic related to coaching, development of golfers.
